I figure that my year-long trip in Sydney warrants a post of its own! =D

First day in Sydney
A senior took us to Burwood and left us there. We took the wrong train on the way back!
Sydneysiders complain that they have the worst train system in the world, (during the elections.) But I actually don't think it's all that bad. Haha, I almost always could find seats on the trains, and none ever broke down on me =P And oh we could eat on trains! No fines. =D Of course, the frequency of trains leave something to be desired, and it's awfully pricey. The worst thing? We weren't entitled to student concession because we were international students!
My mummy says I look old in the photo, but I think it's the photo that's blur.
First Day at School
We cycled there. I didn't really make much use of my bike throughout the year, though. In the end, I didn't even get to sell it off. I'll probably blog about it in my other blog. It really is hilarious!
Touring around
Naturally, we behaved like tourists the first few days we were there. This was taken in the souvenir shop at the Aquarium.
That, was taken the night Yuwei drove us to the city. =P My navigation skills have improved since then. =P
Winter left. Spring came. We got busier with readings and presentations...

7 Bridges Walk

On the weekend before our semestral papers, some of us went for the 7 Bridges Walk around Sydney. Freakyi and I completed the whole 22km! She even swallowed a fly in the process. When we finally reached Sydney Harbour Bridge from Milsons Point, it was a relief to our aching leg muscles to climb the stairs onto the bridge. I've no idea why! We groaned when we reached the top. What, no more stairs for us to climb?

Time flew, the semester ended! Freakyi Yiling and I went to New Zealand and back. I went to Canberra for Yuwei's graduation (for all my efforts, I've got no photos to show for it -.-'''), Yuwei Xueting and I went to Tassie and Melbourne and got back to Sydney in time to celebrate X'mas with the rest! Thank you Xueting for the miniature model of Sydney Tower =D
Then Yiru came and amongst the many places we went was the Blue Mountains.

New Year Fireworks
I forgot to mention we went to Sydney Harbour for New Year fireworks! The Coat Hanger was decorated with a gem and hangar lights decoration. At that time, we didn't know that the Harbour Bridge was known as the Coat Hangar, so we speculated that they were refering to their bridge as a "hanging gem". To our surprise, a question mark flashed, (yes they decorated their bridge with a question mark).
o.O Me, "Is it a questionable hanging gem, then?"
I only spent about 6 weeks in Sg during summer holidays! =P

We went to alot of places still!

Freakyi and I went to Manly before the warmth gave way to chill. We got stung by jellyfish!

It was a chilly autumn day. In addition to wines, I succumbed and bought a boomerang for myself during the trip.

Royal Easter Show

The Royal Easter Show is held at the Olympic Park every year, not far from where we lived. We still had to buy a full-priced ticket to get to that place though.

Yerranderie
We went to Yerranderie during our one-week break, the closest outback you can get to from Sydney. It is a former silver mining town, now owned by an elderly lady, daughter of L.J. Hooker. Xueting's friend Barry drove us there, for 6 hours!! Aren't you impressed! The 4-wheel drive was extremely... bumpy. I, normally resistant towards car/sea-sickness, felt distinctly uncomfortable for a good part of the journey.
I was on my hands and knees towards the end of the climb up, all the while thinking how in hell I'd be able to get back to the bottom later! Answer: On my bottom.

Kitty
Kitty came just a little after Easter Break! Over the 3 months, she became Zhijing's, or rather, Zhijing became hers.
Meanwhile, we got started with our clinicals and nobody was free to go anywhere for a while. I haunted Parramatta for 11 weeks because I worked at Westmead and Parramatta was covered in my train pass.
Also went for 2 Broncos games with Freakyi. They won in both games =P, first against the Roosters, then the Bulldogs. =D I don't think I'd ever have the chance to go to an NRL game again!
Winter sneaked up on us and I just had to go back to my favourite spot in Sydney to take another picture!

Snowy Mountains
The ever-playful me convinced the rest that we just had to go skiing before we came back to Sg for good! (They didn't need much convincing, anyway.)
That isn't snow you see, it was more like a whole sheet of ice-kachang ice bits. I remained unconvinced when a little girl I sat next to on the chair-lift tried to tell me that it was snow. (More like sleet.)
And then it snowed for the whole of the 3rd day! Now that's snow.
I know I look toot with that helmet, but boy am I grateful I rented it! On the 3rd day, I challenged a slightly more difficult trail, tumbled many times, and even fell backwards onto the back of my head, hard.

Graduation
Since we couldn't join the rest of the local graduates in their graduation, we rented the gowns and took our own pictures. =D
